We offer sensitive and supportive learning packages to help students return to full-time education as quickly as possible. The focus is on transition and helping young people out of education to become secure and independent.

What do we do?

We provide invaluable support for local authorities, schools and parents/carers with students who are out of education due to any of the following commonly occurring issues:

  • Exclusions
  • Planned moves
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Issues around bullying
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties
  • Physical Disabilities
  • And more

Aims

By using themed learning weeks, we reintegrate pupils successfully through:

  • Making learning fun
  • Contextualising the curriculum with local environment
  • Personalised support plans
  • Supportive yet challenging models of positive reengagement
  • Building social and emotional awareness

Outcomes

Outcomes for our transitional packages all follow in line with the Harbour Schools Group ethos of a humanistic approach in line with our socio-educational model for success and will be based on each of the five areas within our student-centred model as follows:

  • Academic – Improved literacy and numeracy from baseline
  • Engagement – 90% attendance across the curriculum offer
  • Enrichment – Improved participation in group activities
  • Therapeutic – STAR rating improved
  • SEMH – Improved social awareness and emotional resilience
